The Environment Department has published the energy reporting requirements that apply to every registered physical site of the Velocity Interoperability Network, together with the efficiency targets against which the reported figures will be measured.

Each member organisation will report metered electricity consumption and fuel consumption quarterly, and power usage effectiveness and the low-carbon share of electricity supply annually. Any change to a site's metered supply capacity is to be reported within 30 days. One report may cover all of an organisation's sites.

The targets require a power usage effectiveness of 1.4 or lower at every site housing Network equipment, a year-on-year reduction of at least 3 per cent in electricity consumed per unit of installed equipment, and at least half of each site's electricity from renewable or contracted low-carbon sources. A site that does not expect to meet a target may apply for a revised target, stating the reason and the date by which the original target will be met.

The requirements, the targets and the reporting calendar are published on environment.gov.vin. Aggregate figures for the Network will be published after each reporting period; figures for individual sites will not be published.
